HAV restricts initial filling flow so downstream pressure rises gradually, then opens for normal flow. Select electrical or pneumatic control, and confirm the downstream volume, required startup behavior and normal working flow.
Check the control and mounting details
Working pressure is 0.3 to 1.0 MPa. Electrical versions offer 12/24 V DC or 110/220 V AC, with grommet-lead or DIN wiring. The pneumatic pilot minimum start pressure is 0.2 MPa. Use the ordering reference and dimension drawings on pages 81–82 to confirm the complete model.

What does the HAV soft-start valve do?
It limits initial filling flow to build downstream pressure gradually, then opens for normal flow. On closing, it vents residual downstream pressure. Review its function within the complete machine circuit and intended startup sequence.
Which size and control options should I specify?
HAV2000, HAV3000 and HAV4000 have 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch ports respectively. Choose electrical or pneumatic control. For an electrical version, specify the coil voltage and grommet-lead or DIN wiring; check supply and exhaust effective areas in the comparison table.
Is effective area a flow rate?
No. The catalogue lists supply and exhaust effective areas in mm². These are not L/min flow ratings and must not be compared directly with a filter's rated flow. Provide the operating pressure, required flow and downstream volume for selection.
