Use the specified inlet-air conditions
HDAFM treats initially filtered compressed air with a listed filtration precision of 0.3 µm. Its working pressure is 0.15 to 1.0 MPa and its ambient/fluid temperature range is 5 to 60 °C.
Keep flow and bowl choices model-specific
The listed maximum processing flows use 0.7 MPa inlet pressure, 20 °C and 65% relative humidity at atmospheric conditions. Capacity changes with inlet pressure; the catalogue warns that excess flow can carry oil mist through the outlet. Confirm the D automatic-drain suffix and bowl/guard option, then check the dimension drawing for the supplied configuration.

How is HDAFM different from an HDAF air filter?
HDAF is the general filter range with 25 µm standard filtration and 5 µm or 50 µm options. HDAFM is a separate mist-separator range listed at 0.3 µm and intended for initially filtered compressed air. Select the treatment stages by contamination type and the downstream air requirement.
How do I choose HDAFM30 or HDAFM40?
HDAFM30 offers 1/4 or 3/8 inch ports; HDAFM40 offers 3/8 or 1/2 inch ports. Their listed maximum processing flows are 450 and 1,100 L/min under the catalogue's stated conditions. Check the actual inlet pressure and flow; exceeding the processing capacity can allow oil mist to pass through.
Can HDAFM replace an air dryer?
The reviewed HDAFM catalogue specifies mist filtration, not a pressure-dew-point rating. Review water-vapour and drying requirements separately instead of treating a finer filter as a dryer.
Can I choose the drain and bowl configuration?
