Choose the assembly around lubrication requirements
HDAC is an FRL assembly for circuits that require filtration, pressure regulation and added oil-mist lubrication. First check the instructions for the downstream valves, cylinders or tools. If they require unlubricated air, select a filter-regulator arrangement without an HDAL lubricator. An FRL assembly does not establish a drying specification, and finer particle filtration does not by itself specify oil-mist removal.
Compare two-piece and three-piece layouts
A three-piece HDAC uses separate HDAF filter, HDAR regulator and HDAL lubricator modules. The A ordering family combines HDAW filtration and regulation in one module, followed by HDAL lubrication. This changes the assembly layout and dimension drawing. Compare mounting width, gauge visibility, pipe alignment and bowl access before choosing the arrangement; do not assume that a two-piece replacement shares the existing bracket locations.
Check working flow as well as connection size
The table distinguishes the 20, 30 and 40 body sizes and their minimum oil-mist flows. Those thresholds describe lubricator operation, not the assembly’s rated supply capacity. Check minimum running flow as well as peak demand, inlet pressure and required outlet pressure. Send the operating conditions with the model inquiry so the selection can be checked against the actual circuit, including intermittent operation.
Specify drainage and plan routine access
Confirm the complete drain, bowl, cover and gauge configuration before fixing the installation. The catalogue distinguishes manual drainage on the 20 body from air-shutoff drainage and an automatic-drain option on larger bodies. Arrange condensate discharge and enough room to inspect and service both bowls. Follow the supplied service instructions for oil filling and maintenance; isolate the supply and release trapped pressure before removing a bowl or component.

Questions about HDAC.
Selection, installation and care for this product range.
What is the difference between HDAC30 and HDAC30A?
HDAC30 is a three-piece HDAF30 + HDAR30 + HDAL30 combination. HDAC30A is a two-piece HDAW30 + HDAL30 combination. Both perform filtration, regulation and lubrication, but the physical layout and drawings differ. Confirm the full ordering code and available installation space.
Does 40 L/min describe the maximum flow of HDAC30?
No. It is the catalogue minimum oil-mist flow for the 30-size lubricator. The corresponding thresholds are 15 L/min for size 20 and 50 L/min for size 40. Ask XMC to check supply capacity at the operating pressure and permitted pressure drop.
Which filter grades and pressure range are listed?
The reviewed HDAC tables list 25 µm standard filtration, with 5 µm and 50 µm options, and a 0.05 to 0.85 MPa pressure regulating range. Maximum working pressure is 1.0 MPa. Confirm the element and complete assembly specified on the quotation.
What should I send for an HDAC quotation?
Provide two-piece or three-piece layout, body size, port and thread, minimum and peak flow, inlet and outlet pressure, lubrication requirement, filtration grade, drain arrangement, gauge preference and quantity. Include a mounting drawing or existing model when replacing an installed unit.
